happisburgh
Happisburgh is a coastal area with a high rate of erosion. According to the British Geological Survey (BGS) between 1600 and 1850 over 250m of land was lost to coastal erosion in Happisburgh.
Currently there are hard engineering techniques in place but are in a state of disrepair due to the high wave energies and the defences not being maintained. Happisburgh also has residential properties situated very near the cliff edges now due to the rapid cliff erosion.
